Join artist and maker, Buzz Mitchell who will be setting up her work at The Red House for the weekend.
She will have her delicate plant drawings with her, along with the simple sustainable jewellery she makes from sea glass and stones gathered at low tide along our Suffolk coast. She will chat about her processes, and there will be the opportunity to buy her work.
You can book below to join Buzz for an informal drawing workshop in our beautiful garden and meadow. She will share her passion for capturing plants with the immediacy and simplicity of graphite pencils, charcoal or crayons - and will guide and encourage you to draw in a way that feels comfortable for you.
You may want to lose yourself in close observation, or experiment with working fast and loose to express the essence of a plant or habitat. There’ll be no pressure for a perfect end result or to share your work with others. The main thing is to enjoy the process, to have fun, experiment with mark making, and feel the benefit of slowing down immersed in nature. Above all Buzz would like you to feel encouraged and inspired to continue at home.
All materials will be provided but feel free to bring any favourite pencils, crayons, paper or sketch books.Saturday 15 July | 2:00pm
