New funding for environmental projects

A new funding scheme aimed at enabling environment-friendly projects has been launched by one of East Suffolk’s Community Partnerships.

The Kesgrave, Rushmere St Andrew, Martlesham, Carlford and Fynn Valley Community Partnership have today announced the launch of a new funding scheme, which is aimed at enabling environmental care within the local community.

Local groups within the Partnership area can apply for funding through the scheme for environmental projects, which will benefit the lives of local people, local communities and the local environment. This can include school projects, purchasing of equipment, planting of trees/plants or learning activities.

The Partnership is also interested in new approaches and innovative ideas as well as sustainable approaches to supporting the local environment.

Councillor Blundell says the funding will enable local groups to deliver new environmental projects

Cllr Chris Blundell, Chair of the Kesgrave, Martlesham and villages Community Partnership, says “We know that one of the priorities within the Partnership area is the environment and we want to help local communities get involved in caring for and protecting their local environment. I am therefore pleased to be announcing the launch of this scheme which is aimed at enabling local groups to deliver new environmental projects which will benefit not only the local environment, but also local people and the wider community.”

The scheme offers grants of up to £1,500 and applications must be submitted by 14 December 2020.
