Local plan update!

Local plan documents submitted to Planning Inspectorate

29 March 2019

Suffolk Coastal has now submitted Local Plan documents to the Planning Inspectorate for independent examination.

The submission, on Friday 29 March 2019, is the next stage in the Local Plan process, following a six-week publication for representations to soundness in January this year. During this period, we received 1525 representations from 569 individuals and organisations.

A spokesperson from Suffolk Coastal said:

“The Council has now reached another significant milestone in the production of its Local Plan. Thank you to everyone who has participated in the plan making process and submitted representations on the Final Draft Local Plan. These have all been submitted to the Planning Inspectorate for consideration as part of the Examination.”

Following the submission to the Planning Inspectorate, the public hearing stage of the Examination is expected to be held during the summer of 2019. We will publish the date once it has been confirmed.

Once adopted, the Local Plan sets out the policies which will guide development in the District over the period to 2036.

Copies of all representations and documents submitted to the Planning Inspectorate are available to view on our website: www.eastsuffolk.gov.uk/localplanexamination

Copies are also available at the Customer Service Centre at Woodbridge Library.
